Freelance
artist and tutor, designing and creating
contemporary wall-hung work
to commission and for exhibitions.
I like to work by freely experimenting with the medium, working mostly with resist and
discharge-dyed textiles, print and mosaic.
Inspiration comes from a variety of sources and whilst some
works are conventional depictions of the natural world, others are arrived at
with a more intuitive and spontaneous approach, responding
to memories, dreams, lyrics, conversations…..
Tutor practice includes
teaching in adult education, school residencies with learners ranging from
reception year through to sixth form, community settings with art & craft
Groups, day centres
for people with learning difficulties and old peoples homes. Workshops, talks
and demonstrations in conjunction with exhibitions.
